Tackling our TBR
Our TBR shelf is out of control. What’s a TBR? It’s our ‘to be read’ list.
These are books that we have on our shelf but haven’t gotten around to reading.
Whether this is our physical shelf, Kindle shelf, or simply our want to read list, it can be overwhelming.
As mood readers, Tracy and I both have overflowing TBRs.
Our first reading challenge for our blog is to tackle the dreaded TBR and clear some space for new books on our shelves.
We are huge fans of Jaysen over @ezeekat, and when we saw him tackling his shelf, we decided we wanted to join the fun.
I recently went to a couple of Bingo night fundraisers and thought it would be fun to add an element of chance to our challenge. Plus we both had bingo wheels!
So we divided our lists by categories:
B-Fantasy/Sci-Fi
I-Romance
N-Contemporary/Literary
G-Historical/Nonfiction
O-Mystery/Adventure/Thriller
These books aren’t all new releases. Some of them have been hanging around for a while.
We’ve been meaning to get to them. Really, we have.
This will give us that extra push to read it or release it.
The rules:
- We will roll out two numbers and then choose between those two books (hopefully we will be in the mood to read one of them).
- There is nothing wrong with a DNF (Did Not Finish). Life is too short to read books that aren’t speaking to you.
- We will only write reviews on the books we love. Just because we didn’t love it doesn’t mean you won’t.
This will be an ongoing series because we add books to our TBR faster than we can read them!
Here is our Bingo sheet.
Feel free to modify it for yourself.
If you don’t have a Bingo wheel you can draw out slips of paper or roll dice, anything to make it fun and interactive for you.
Don’t miss our weekly reviews of new releases and our latest reads. If you have any questions or suggestions for future posts, contact us or leave a comment. We’d love to have you follow us on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube to see our latest reviews and reads!
Cozy up with a good read and hope to see you in the middle of a book,
Tracy and Amy
