4.25⭐
When six strangers are randomly assigned housing together at Stanford they become best friends and family.
Tragedy strikes and one member of the group dies suddenly in their dorm room.
While dealing with their loss, the friends pledge to throw each other “living” funerals if one of the group needs confirmation for any reason that they are loved.
After graduation, they go their separate ways and keep in touch like adults do: random Facebook messages, the occasional dinner.
But whenever someone needs their “living” funeral, they drop everything and come running.
Realistic contemporary fiction is not my go-to genre, but I really enjoyed this book.
The characters were relatable and their friendship was inspiring.
I gave it 4.25 stars because I grew to care about the characters and liked being a spectator on their journey.
