Birding with Benefits by Sarah T. Dubb

This was an absolute joy to read. Our female main character Celeste is on a mission to say yes to her life. Her ex-husband always told her she was ‘too much.’ But now that she’s divorced she’s embracing her over the top nature.

Her current adventure is to pretend to be the temporary girlfriend of a guy she’s never met, but his friend says he’s awesome. When she shows up for what she assumes is a one and done date, she learns that what she really signed on for is a bird-watching competition that will last weeks. 

After John gets over the shock that is Celeste and her out-going personality, he’s thankful that she intervenes when his ex-girlfriend spots him at the beginning of the bird-watching event. The ex always told him he could do more and be more, but John is happy with his life.

He’s also happy watching Celeste learn about the birds and soon they are birders with benefits. But are they ready to accept each other for who they are? 

This will be a book that I will read again and again.
