 5⭐

This book is like The Wild Robot for adults. Androids developing or exploring their feelings is something that I’ve been interested in since watching Data on Star Trek. She calls herself a Murderbot because of something that happened in her past. Her current assignment has her with a group of scientists exploring a planet when terrible things start to happen. Everyone is put at risk and the Murderbot must decide if she wants to stick with the company training or break free and join the scientists as they fight for survival. Our friend Murderbot has already proven herself to be a rebel and this group of scientists may be worth fighting for. At only 160 pages this short science fiction novella is the first in the series.

Artificial Condition 4.5 ⭐ I loved continuing the Murderbot journey. I think this one may have gotten a lower star rating from me because I listened to the audio and may have been distracted at times.

Rogue Protocol 5 ⭐ I continued the series and really enjoy how Wells explores the idea of humanity through the Murderbot. I’ve always loved characters who are robots, androids, cyborgs or somehow other than human but want to know what it feels like to be human. We get that with Murderbot and it is thoughtful and often poignant watching Murderbot explore its relationships.

Exit Strategy 5⭐ This was the end of the novellas but I learned that the series continues with full-length novels. As a sci-fi enthusiast, I definitely want to continue this series.
