I borrowed this book from the library and didn’t get to it quickly. So when I got the notice that it was due, I was going to just return it. I picked it up and decided to give it a chance and I’m so glad I did!

If you liked Carrie Soto is Backby Taylor Jenkins Reid, you will love this book!

I alternated listening and reading this book (sometimes both at the same time) and enjoyed every minute of it.

Katerina Shaw is determined to become an Olympic skater and nothing will stop her. She also plans to bring her childhood best friend/love along with her.

Kat and Heath come from trauma filled backgrounds and no money, but are convinced that willpower and grit can compel them to the top of the podium.

This book chronicles their career, love story, break-up, comeback and how skating monopolizing their lives.

Kat’s journey to find something she cares about as much as skating and Heath’s journey to find something he cares about as much as Kat is the crux of the story.

The supporting characters, behind the scenes of skating scandals, and Olympic corruption add depth and complexity to this book.

I gave this 4.5 stars and would highly recommend for book clubs. In fact, I recommended it to my book club and think that we will have lots to discuss next month!
