The Les Masques Ball is the event of the season for New Orleans debutantes.

Last year’s queen, Margot Landry, died of an apparent overdose the morning after the ball.

Tensions are high this year, so when pranksters disrupt the ball by spattering the new queen Lily LeBlanc with fake blood and pictures of Margot, everyone is on edge.

Lily sends a text to three debutantes to meet her: Vivian, her best friend, Piper, her boyfriend’s sister, and April, a former friend of Lily & Margot.

When Lily doesn’t show up and no one can find her, the three girls grow suspicious of the lack of urgency by the police.

Everyone thinks Lily fought with her boyfriend and will be back in a few days. Lily’s powerful parents are keeping the disappearance low key.

The new trio begin looking into Lily’s disappearance and how Margot’s “overdose” might be related.

They discover some very dark secrets among New Orleans most powerful families–secrets that could cost them their lives.
