4.25⭐

Rebecca Serle’s newest release follows Daphne on her quest for love.

The narrative traces back to fifth grade when Daphne begins receiving mysterious cards predicting the duration of her relationships.

When she gets Jake’s card, it doesn’t have a timeline.

Could this mean he’s the one? Her forever?

As the book progresses we see glimpses of past relationships including that of her now best friend, Hugo.

With this new card not having a timeline, Daphne is allowing herself to give it a chance, something we see she hasn’t done in the past.

I am not a skip-ahead, read-the-ending-first, kind of girl, but this book was tempting.

I needed to know what was going to happen, but I persevered without sneaking a peek at the conclusion.

Daphne’s search for love was at times sweet and at other times agonizing.

As a reader, I wanted to give her advice, scream at her, and tell her to forget the cards and live.

While I had my own ideas about how things should unfold, I wondered how many more layers the author would add to this story.

Rebecca Serle once again has you contemplating life, love, and relationships through interesting characters and beautiful settings.

Another enjoyable book by a fantastic author.

I also recommend In Five Years, another compelling exploration of life and love.
